Things That Your Student Should Know

By Gene Joseph

Here are a few of the way I got through school. I struggled the entire time and my hope is to assist you steer clear of my mistakes.

Keep good relationships with your neighbors and your roommate. Do not yell at your roommate and give him some respect. Try to talk it out with him/her every time there's an issue between you two.

Do not hesitate to take therapy sessions. Let's say that you've broken up with your girlfriend/boyfriend, or you simply have an insomnia. Don't be afraid to visit the counseling center. There is absolutely nothing to be upset of.

Buy a printer. Yes, this is the strange one, but it will save you from a lot of anxiety. Even if I don't generally condone those last-minute assignments, I have no illusions whatsoever that they will happen. That's why it is always a benefit to have a printer around.

Spread out your assignments. This means that you must don't ever do your projects on the very last day. Rather, develop a day-to-day schedule for each assignment and devote some time for it. Likewise, try to write them down on a computer and format them so that they look as professional as they can. This is a crucial skill for your future career; certainly there's no reason not to practice it even in college.

Try to save as much money as possible. Develop a habit of not squandering your money. Having extra cash stashed away is always a good idea.

Constantly take notes. Have a different binder for each course. This will make you organized and you will have that information at your fingertip at any time.

Try to be involved in every single course.

The first reason why I'm telling you this is that the teacher will not forget you. This is particularly crucial in college systems where you need to go through written, as well as oral exams.

The 2nd reason is that you must always avoid being confused, even if it makes you feel moronic to ask simple questions in front of others. You should not be anxious to ask any question to settle your confusion.
