By Willy Wilson

There are many reason people start a blog. Some do it for the pleasure of it, while others do it for income. No matter the motivation, blogs offer you a terrific outlet for personal expression.

Make sure that you do not have duplicate content. You can check for this by using the robots that are out there. If you do have content that is duplicated, the search engines will probably tag your site for spam, and you will not wind up getting the attention that you are looking for.

Say thank you to your employees. Many studies have been done on the power of a thanks given from a manager to his or her employees.

Even if you are not the best at everything you do, you should never let people know that. Being a leader is about accepting the negative things about yourself, but not allowing them to stop you from doing your best. This pertains to all points in your life where you may be lacking.

Since blogs are written on a more personal level, you should avoid writing in formal tones. This will make it easier for the reader to relate to you on a personal level. This will keep your readers coming back later on to read more of the blogs you write.

Understand the business you are in. Unfortunately there are many leaders out there who don't get their business totally. Whether that's because they inherited the business or they just no longer care, it doesn't matter. It reads the same to employees. How can you lead if others don't trust that you have the knowledge to do so?

Business is changing constantly so be open to new ideas. Even though something has always worked well in the past, that doesn't mean there isn't a better way to get the job done. Be open to innovative ideas.

Don't forget to add social media sharing links on your blog. This will ensure that people can share your blog on their profiles for free. Doing this can increase your traffic by quite a bit. It will keep increasing if the content's good because people can tell their friends which puts you on multiple pages at once.

Set goals for your blog. Having set goals that you want to achieve will go along way towards increasing your productivity. Decide how many posts you want to make in a given week. Determine what your focus is going to be and what keywords you are going to be targeting. Taking the time to work out your goals, will keep you on focus and blogging productively.

Do your research on the different platforms and see what works best for your goals.

As you can see from these tips, creating a blog is nothing more than a few key tips, pieces of knowledge, and the determination to keep trucking. Armed with these key resources, you should feel prepared to get started. Where you go is completely your choice.
