Lindsay Merbaum Is A Novelist Extraordinaire

A writer will always be a writer. She is in love with words and stories. She will always be creating wonderful novels that will captivate you. Lindsay Merbaum is a writer extraordinaire. She is one passionate writer who lives and breathe poetry, words and literature. She is one inspiring work of art.

Lindsay is a famous fiction writer, editor and content creator. She got her Masters Degree, at the age of twenty four, in Brooklyn College, majoring in Fine Arts. She is also a free spirit wanderer, travelling in several places abroad. In the summer of 2012, she was awarded with a scholarship to attend the Disquiet International Literary Program in Lisbon, Portugal.

She earned her Masters Degree in Fine Arts at Brooklyn College. She was also a recipient of the Himan Brown Award in the same college. Himan Brown Award winners were determined through a writing competition, which first started in 2005. Lindsay was one of the first receivers of the award. Himan Brown, an influential radio producer founded the awards himself.

Enrolling in the Masters Program of the Fine Arts Department in Brooklyn allows you to understand the importance of faculty and student collaboration. It is a small and highly personal program that gathers degree holders in Fine Arts. Those who majored in fiction, playwriting and poetry can enroll in the program for two years. They offer workshops, tutorials and seminars to students.

Known as a famous writer, Lindsay is also a teacher by profession a few years back. She is fond of travelling and wants to gain more experience in teaching. She accepted the offer and taught in Quito, Ecuador as an English teacher.

Four years after, she left Ecuador and settled in California. Her stories have received citations in the Best American Short Stories, and have been nominated in the South Award. They were also printed in most journals and magazines like the PANK, The Collagist, Dzanc Books Best, Gargoyle and Epiphany.

She grew up reading books while living on the East Coast. She sees herself as an introvert who chooses to be in a company of two or three friends, than a large group of people. Aside from writing fiction, she also listens to jazz music, and enjoys cooking if she is not busy creating novels.

Lindsay now lives in San Francisco with her husband. She is currently working on a novel, The Wailing Room. The story revolves around Clytemnestra, a lovely and mysterious hotel employee with a dual identity. It also narrates three hotel guests grappling with painful secrets and revelations. The story depicts a portrait of a New York City hotel offering guests every possible luxury, along with complete privacy and anonymity.

She loves writing novels with a suspense thriller theme. She feels her blood pumping wild while writing challenging and mysterious stories. She also gets inspiration from travelling in different places around the globe. She plans to travel again and learn different cultures. But, that would have to wait. She has a story to finish. Creating stories will always be with her. And even when she is old enough to have grandkids, she will still be writing.
