Knowing More About Ghostwriting Services For Novels And Memoirs

By Jordan Schmidt

Ghostwriting has been one of the most profitable and common jobs for young writers ever since before. Ghostwriters would offer their writing services to authors as editors and proofreaders. They would usually offer their ghostwriting services for novels and memoirs to authors who need someone to edit their work and to also do the bulk of the writing jobs.

Now the first thing that one should know about would be what exactly a ghost writer does and what his role is in the publishing scene. Basically, these ghostwriters are hired workers who are paid to do tasks for the author. This is done so that more effort and time can be saved in the part of the author and the publishing process can go faster.

Now to start off, it is good to look at novels first because these are the publications that are more popular among readers. Firstly, these writers are hired by the author in order to edit the work of the author. While the other may come up with the drafts and the story line, the ghostwriters are the ones that would clean it up and make it readable for the audience.

Now other than that, ghostwriters may also be paid sometimes to complete the entire novel. Of course they will be paid more, but they will also have to do more work simply because they have to finish the entire novel. Of course the entire flow and the story will be given by the author but the ghostwriter has to come up with the words and the writing style.

Now when it comes to memoirs on the other hand, a typical ghostwriter will definitely have more work that what a ghostwriter of a novel has. Not only are writers of memoirs tasked to edit and proofread, but they are also tasked to do some research as well. They will be working directly with the author and the author will be giving them the commands.

Now what makes a memoir quite hard to do is that it needs a lot of research from the part of the ghostwriter. The writer is the one who will be conducting the research on behalf of the author and the author will use that research to come up with the outline. This research would include both primary research as well as secondary research.

Also just like in a novel, the ghostwriters will be the ones to clean up the entire content. As stated above, the author will most likely provide the draft or sometimes just the outline and the writing team will work from there. So as one can see, writing a memoir is definitely more difficult and more time consuming than writing a novel.

Of course there is the big question of how they will be credited. Well since they are ghostwriters, they will not be seen and known to the public. However, the great thing about their job is that they will get a standard fee for the job and the author will also sometimes offer a percentage of some of the royalties that he would get from his book.
