Poems Of Comfort For The Anguished Soul

By Tiffany Gill

Seeking shelter in the comforting arms of a loved one is easy to do, during difficult times. Often, people find themselves alone, without someone who truly understands the magnitude of their suffering. Perhaps they should consider reading poems of comfort.

Similar expressions, shared, of suffering and pain, administers repose during an emotionally isolated time. It seems almost enigmatic, how one can read the written word of another, and feel such emotional closeness and peacefulness. By applying their emotion, it seems as if they have the ability to share your feelings and express their sorrow, as if it were yours.

Beginning by enveloping your frailty, they alleviate your emotional despondency. Although you may feel as if you can not accept your loss, they will begin to guide you in the process of acceptance, strength, warmth and love. A verse which allows you to truly feel your grief, will also allow you to begin to heal as well.

By allowing yourself to feel your loss, they help you find strength to let go, to continue to live, to strive, to allow yourself to once again begin to live life. Many compositions will allow you to work through your anger and hurt. Once again, they bring out the anguish that is within your soul. Slowly and methodically, allowing you to work through your grief one step at a time.

Poetic bargaining is a way of begging for a different situation, rather than facing the one that stands before you. Based on hope, the author seeks a way to change the past to make today's grief vanish. When encompassed in these lyrics, it almost seems possible for the promises you've made, to change the events that have occurred.

Depressive poetry assures you that your pain and suffering are unique. It almost allows you to believe that you must be the only one in the world who feels such devastating loss. It takes your pain, puts it on paper, for the entire world to see. In this manner you can almost justify your depression, as you work through your pain, to find the comfort you so desperately need.

Lyrics of acceptance find you in a more responsive place. You find solace in the written word. You have come to the realization that, although you have suffered great loss, your life will continue to move forward. Yes, you will still feel the sting of loss. But, you will also be comforted in knowing that someone else has walked through this same process and has also found their acceptance.

Succor often begins with reading the lyrics that others, who have walked this path before you, have written. Immerse yourself in the strength of their compassion. Feel their sorrow, watch as they face their loss, as they gain acceptance of things out of their control, as their own personal dysphoria disappears while they regain their resolve. Discover peacefulness that can only be found through poems of comfort.
