The Incredible Collection Of Lacey Dancer Writing

By Rachael Gutierrez

Lacey Dancer is a renowned American author who was born in 1948. She specializes in historical and contemporary romance literature and has written widely under various names. Some of the names she authored under include Sydney Ann Clary, Sara Chance and Sherry Carr. She has written under her real name as well since starting her work in 1983.

With a growing reputation, Lacey has won a number of awards including Romantic Times Career Achievement that was awarded to her between the year 1991 and 1992. This was for a series of novels she had written under the name Romance Love and Laughter. The second award from Romantic Times came in 1996. This was under the Career Achievement category for the series titled Romantic Adventure.

The words used by Romantic Times depict an author who has mastered her genre. They describe the work as richly intense and dazzling. She manages to give the readers the best characters who make the story fascinating. According to the editor, the work is creative, sharp, imaginative and irresistible. She manages to play around with suspense ensuring that the reader is glued to the book up to the last chapter.

The original publisher of the work by Lacey was Meteor. They released the novels under the series Kismet. This was a romance category that had been running for years. The other series under which her work was produced is Pippa and was prominent in her late years as a writer. This category was her last engagement before the publisher folded up.

It was difficult for Dancer to deal with the closure of Meteor in the middle of her writing career. One of the challenges was finding a publisher for Many Faces of Love, a novel that was in line. The closure left the title orphaned. Meteor had not published it by the time they closed shops.

Having no publisher for her books, Lacey turned around the predicament and formed her own publishing company called Clear Ice Publishing. This also solved the problem of acceptance. Other publishers were reluctant to publish the work of a 40 year old writer among their romance novels. They considered her too old for the genre. It is her company that would release the rest of the books to masses in paperback. This would change her career for good.

The books published under the name Sara Chance were released from 1983 to 1989. Several books were published under this name as single novels and as a series entitled Southern Comfort. Among the titles in this category were Double Solitaire, Fire in the night and Her Golden Eyes. The Southern Comfort is a collection of three books written in the years 1988 and 1989.

The other names used by Lacey Dancer in writing were Sydney Ann Clary. This allowed her to write three novels entitles Misfit Match, The Duchess and the Devil and Undercover Affair. From the 1990s, she decided to use her real name in publishing her work. This led to a series called St. James Saga as well as a collection of ten other novels. The last book available by this author is Many Faces of Love that was released in 2003. It forms the collection that is now beyond thirty books.
