By Traci Witt

If you plan on creating a get together mixed with friends or family, you may want to provide a story or two to keep the night full of playful scares and fun. There is nothing like telling really good and scary horror stories to bring everyone together and cause a lot of excitement throughout the night. There are many kinds of tales but ghost stories seem to be the most popular.

The truth of the matter is that, everyone loves a good ghost story and there are a lot of them to tell at a sleepover or a campfire. There are many legends such as the Amityville Horror, the vengeful stories of Bloody Mary and Bell Witch, and the tragic tales of David Gregory and Carmen Winstead.

The Amityville tale involves a murder by the nickname of Butch who went madman and decided to kill all of his family members, including his parents, other brother ans sisters. The story itself has been retold through books and movies and the actually hauntings have been documented by the families that lived there for nearly thirty years. When people actually moved in, they would feel the unnerving presence of something unearthly and strange things would happen to windows and doors.

The next famed tale involves Bloody Mary. The story is very troubling and began when a girl named Mary, who very beautiful, got into a tragic accident that left her face horribly disfigured. It is said that in order to see her again, one was chant her name three times within the darkness in front of a mirror.

The story in which Mary release her vengeance on those conjuring her has also been popularize by the media outlets so it would not hurt to add in your own little plot twist to make the story a bit unfamiliar to those who may have already heard it.

The Death of David Gregory and Carmen Winstead are two different tales but share a similar premise both involving young people being pushed into a sewer to their deaths. Theses tales are actually rooted by a chain letter that was posted over the internet and although they are similar in context the ways that both victims met their ill fates are quite different.

The death of David was caused by the death of Carmen who was pushed into a sewer to her death by a group of girls. Afterwards, a chain letter was released over the internet and a boy named David read it but did not re-post it like the message had stated. Later after a search, his found his body in a sewer with a broken neck and most of his face peeled off.

The last of the scary horror stories is about the Bell Witch which all happened in 19th century in Tennessee. The spirit associated with this is of a deceased woman named Kate Batts, who believed she was cheated out of purchased land by a man seller. Before her death, she swore to get revenge on the man and all his descendants which would span in a reign of terror for over 200 hundred years.
